President's Message

In a few short years, the National Lawyers Association has grown to over 1,700 attorneys in all 50 states, DC and points overseas. Although we have a long way to go to reach our goal of becoming the nation's preeminent bar association, the first steps in the journey have been taken. Not surprising, the mere presence of an alternative bar association, albeit a relatively small competitor, is already paying dividends to the legal community in the form of reduced dues and fees, additional benefits and services and more competitive programs geared towards once neglected or totally forgotten segments of the bar. Competition is truly great for the consumer, including attorneys searching for a national bar association! As National Lawyers Association continues to grow stronger and move ever closer towards its goal, the legal community will benefit even more as competition goes beyond fees and services and reaches into the intellectual and professional aspects of the legal community. As National Lawyers Association journeys towards its goal of becoming the nation's preeminent bar association, its members can assist in this endeavor by practicing the highest standards of ethics, both professionally and in their personal lives. If so, National Lawyers Association will surely achieve its goal and in Addition will help the legal community restore the public's confidence in and respect for the legal profession.

I hope you will make plans to attend this year's convention in Washington, DC. This year's convention promises to be the best yet. In addition to great CLEs, private receptions, section/committee meetings, and Supreme Court Admissions, the Honorable Henry J. Hyde, congressman from Illinois and a member of National Lawyers Association, has graciously agreed to deliver the keynote address at the noon banquet on Friday. Also, there will be numerous opportunities for networking and establishing new business relationships. As a new and growing organization, National Lawyers Association offers members unlimited business and professional opportunities. Now is the time for all members, new and seasoned, to get in on the ground floor of these opportunities.
